You're the Expert

It's true!

Teachers may be experts in certain subjects, but students are the ones who really understand the college experience and the challenges that can make achieving a college education difficult.  At Cañada College, administrators, faculty and staff work hard to make sure students have as many resources as possible to succeed.  Even so, we know there's always more that can be improved upon and offered.

So, from your point of view, what can we do to further support students, specifically those who are transitioning from adult school?  To give you some context, the majority of students from our adult schools are low-income immigrants who have completed their high school education at a later stage in life than the average high school student.  Many of these students are juggling work and family, too.

If you have ideas on how to help, please contact us!  Depending on how much time you can commit, we can arrange a paid internship or project-based paid contract.  From our experience, we have found that students are very effective as tutors, peer mentors, program recruiters, and event promoters.

Our adult education students are mostly based in Redwood City, Menlo Park, East Palo Alto, Half Moon Bay and Pescadero.  If you have ties to these communities, we definitely want your help!
